  • New Salem Association of Old Regular Baptist churches was organized in 1825; Sandlick Association was given from it in 1876. In 1896 there was a schism in the Sandlick Association and Indian Bottom Association was organized as a result. In the mid-1950s, there was a split in the Indian Bottom Association, and both sections retained the Indian Bottom name; they are both represented in this book. Union Association was given off from New Salem in 1859. Thornton Union Association was given off from Union in 1945
