- This Pilot Guides episode features Marrakech, called the great desert city of Morocco, and Dubai, the world's break-out city of luxury. In Marrakech, a fusion of Africa, Europe and the Islamic cultures, KT Comer takes a carriage to Koutoubia Mosque, which marks the western edge of the old walled city, and explores the markets of the souk, featuring traditional arts, regional crafts, snake charmers, and other performers. She learns about Moroccan leather, listens to traditional Berber healing music, tours the Majorelle Gardens, attends a carpet auction, participates in the Folklore Festival, and visits the Jewish cemetery. In Dubai, Megan McCormick goes downtown to the docks where trade is done between Iran and Dubai. She takes a riverboat to the gold souk, admires the luxurious Burj Al Arab hotel, tries on an Arabic 'abaya', learns about Ramadan, visits the "Sheikh Mohammed Center for Cultural Understanding," tours the Jumeira Mosque, and takes a trip to Abu Dhabi, business center of the oil rich Gulf and home to the best golf courses in the world
