- After being rescued in the Strait of Gibraltar, a seemingly insane man named Columbus begins to tell a fantastical tale of exploration and adventure. Consuela, his attending nurse, attentively listens to the strange man's tales of the New World and its native people. Eventually, she begins to fall in love with Columbus when she realizes that he is not crazy and that his stories may be true
