- First Tori Sinclair's predecessor -- who wasn't keen on retiring in the first place -- indicates that she's going to make some wonderful changes when she substitutes at the library so Tori can help a friend in the hospital. Then Tori nearly flatlines herself when she watches a woman go into cardiac arrest at the hospital. The woman is Vera, her philandering ex-fiancé, Jeff's, great-aunt. Tori does what she must: she calls Jeff to let him know about his great-aunt's unfortunate demise. And she'd have to be heartless to refuse to pick him up at the airport. But when Jeff turns up dead, the police chief believes it's homicide -- and that Tori may have been involved. It's going to be up to the Sweet Briar Ladies Society Sewing Circle to help keep Tori's life from coming apart at the seams.
