- Summary
- The greatest soloists on the international music scene perform together: never before seen duos, quartets and quintets! Rising star and renowned artists have always participated in the Verbier Festival and the 2011 edition confirms it. For the eighteen years of the Festival, some of the best chamber music performances were planned: Yuja Wang, Leonidas Kavakos and Gautier Capuçon opened the concert with the Piano trio No. 2 by Mendelssohn, followed by Leonidas Kavakos and Joshua Bell performing Ysaÿe and by Denis Matsuev, Julian Rachlin and Roby Lakatos in Monti's Csardas. Then Kissin, Repin, Bashmet and Maïsky performed thePiano quartet by Brahms. Finally, the two masters of the piano, Martha Argerich and Evgeny Kissin excelled in Paganini Variations by Lutoslawski
